 My Argument: In my paper, I explained that scientists like astrobiologists, ufologists, and astronomers of many different generations have tried their best to understand and learn about space and get a possible answer to the question: are we alone in the universe? Many conspiracy theorists have tried to use their observations and opinions to come up with different explanations as to whether or not aliens exist. But over decades, since the U.S. government started to search for extraterrestrial intelligence, the research and project did not have much progress, due to the boundary work between SETI scientists and ufologists and other external effects.   This is an image of  plaques that were made of gold-coated aluminum which carried outlines of a human male and female. These two plaques were carried on satellites that tried to communicate with other intelligent life in the universe. The satellites also carried the drawn structure of Hydrogen so that only intelligent life forms can comprehend the message and understand we as human beings trying to be friendly.  Elani indicates that  this way has not yet given a solid amount of evidence that can change the way people see space. Nor is there any answer to the mystery of whether we are alone in the universe or not.   My theoretical frame is based on the article, "What Can Scientists Learn from Alien Hunters". It organizes the fields of studies where astrobiologists and astronomers were on, based on their methods of systematic experimentation. The article directly points out the reason for the boundary work was because of their various approaches to scientific researches on extraterrestrials life topics. By analyzing their methods on scientific studies and looking deep at some political influences, I could conclude with how does the boundary-work affects the study progress on extraterrestrial life for over decades.

  This image was originally an instruction card from an Alien board role-playing game called Alien RPG Core Rulebook. The text section indicates the role of the scientists in researching unknown knowledge on Aliens, and this also applies to astronomers, ufologists, and astrophysicists in reality. They all know better than anyone else, and hoping to explore the truth of the unknowns and the future of humankind, but why didn't they collaborate? This image would help me to draw out the possible reason behind the boundary-work.

  After researching my previous blog post topics, I got some confusions on the field of study of those “ufologists”. Some coverup the fact, some debunk the truth, while some have said we have no progress on finding evidence of extraterrestrial intelligent life.  The main idea of the topic, "what impact does UFO have on our society" hasn't changed.
